Red Octopus Encounters

I recently went on a dive with three very different Eastern Pacific red octopus encounters. The red octopus was the first invertebrate in which individual personalities were demonstrated. One octopus was very shy, but curious.
One octopus was not shy at all. One octopus was very old (they have a two- to three-year life span). I spent time with the old octopus before it died. Birds and an unusual garden near Santa Cruz Harbor. Photos by Neil wiley
